The Big Bad Wolf

A wolf-like creature is roaming the ashram. Noëmie is the first to spot it. From the pictures she shows me I agree that this is the kind of animal that loves chickens for dinner (though I am ashamed to admit that the average ashram dweller is no different). The creature was actually spotted in the garden. So much for our impenetrable electric fence.

It is getting dark when I go to close the chicken hatch. I am prepared for a massacre, but the chickens ar happily roosting and only complain a tiny bit when I take their eggs (one blue, one spotted, one brown). Walking back I spot an animal near Many Mansions. It is too large and quick to be Kitty and it has an unmistakable dog-feel to it, yet more stealthy. Hello mr. Wolf, or mrs. Coyote.

It is decided to keep the chickens in all day unless someone is in the garden. When I come to check on their food and eggs, they try to make a run for the gate. I quickly close the gate on them. Somehow I cannot help but compare. Us chickens here at the ashram, gated in by rules and rituals. Should I make a run for it too?

I know what monster is trying to trap me though. It is called Canadian Immigration Bureaucracy.

  1. I'm wondering if I saw this while I was at the ashram. I saw a strange large dog when no one seemed to have one. It was moving freely near the guys residence, it was like a quick blur.
