While we are learning a new prayerdance, light pours into our classroom. It is a beautiful day, and the lake beckons. At the end of the morning, I ask Eva when she thinks the lake will be warm enough to go for a swim. In twenty minutes, she says. We look at eachother and a pact is made. While I go to the laundry room for beach towels, she goes into the Boutique, to find a free bathingsuit to wear.
At the beach, the water is crystal clear, but the pebbles are frozen together. Walking in, I feel the chill move up my body, up my spine. Keep breathing, I remind myself. Keep breathing. But my mind seems to have gone into a winter shutdown. I quickly dip my whole body in, while Eva is brave enough to dive underwater. COLD we yell. Either this is very healthy, or the start of a heart attack.
Out of the water, the sun is there to warm us. I start to warm up, and tingle with energy. We stand in the sun and do a light ritual, filling our whole bodies with the warm glow of light. When we are dressed again, Eva looks at me and says "Happy Valentine's Day".
How very brave! And beautifully described, sounds like the best of Valentines Days.
