When I told
my loved ones I was travelling to
Canada, they were filled with questions:
What
mountains will you climb?
What rivers
will you cross?
What sights
with you savor?
I just
smiled and remained silent.
When they
learned I would stay at an ashram for 8
months, the questions grew stronger:
Is that
some kind of cult?
Won’t you
get homesick?
Will you
ever have time for yourself?
I just
smiled and remained silent.
Now I have
been here for two months
I climb to
Saraswati every day
I have jumped
into the lake in winter
I have seen
the deer and the moon
I smile and
enjoy the silence.
My journey
lies on a different plain
Over
crooked paths and narrow edges
Through
twisting bends and hidden trapdoors
From
splendor to horror in the blink of an eye
My treasure
chest is filling up.
Crossing an ocean was just the start.
My true
journey lies within.
(part of my satsang talk)
